EONS - Mainland or Island?

Post by John » Thu Apr 26, 2018 12:53 am

Hi all,

So I'd like to explain the differences between these two realms, this should help people understand what they're all about, and which if any to invest their time in.

First off - You will need to download both game clients if you wish to play on both realms, they are not interchange-able and you may be required to re-download both clients if you attempt to manually change the port and connect to the wrong realm!

Secondly, you can log in to both realms at once using both clients, without issue.

Let's start with EONS Main -

This realm is a high-rates paradise, as such, it's designed to the high-rates or "fun server" game model.
Basically, this means that it is much faster to get rich, to get strong, to get equipped and to progress to the end-game content.
The majority of content is then shifted towards the end-game players, giving them something to do!

This game model is best suited for people that really don't want, or don't have the time, to invest days / weeks / months in to a game to become a successful top end player - also known as a "casual player" etc.

Next, we have EONS Island -

This realm is a low-rates challenge, as such, it's designed to the low-rates or "hard server" game model.
Basically, this means that it is much more difficult to get rich, to get strong, to get equipped and to progress to end-game content.
The majority of content is then spread out evenly between starting and end, accommodating for the slow progression between.
An additional Island building system has been implemented, over 15 phases you slowly build up a small island, into a bustling town of sailors.
An additional Renown based crafting system has been implemented, that limits the obtain-ability of equipment, to those that are the most active at interacting with the game. Renown Points are for the most part, limited behind daily scripts, or by farming drops - and are needed to craft higher tiers of equipment.

This game model is best suited for people that have every intention of dedicating a lot of time and effort to achieve what they've got, and thus too a valid sense of achievement for obtaining some new item or piece of equipment, taking down a boss that has killed them numerous times etc - for completing something difficult in other words.

The major differences between the two are as follows:

EONS Main -

EXP Gains = High.
Currency Gains = High.
Challenge Level = Easy.
AOE Weapons = Yes.
Loot Bags = Yes.
Devilgate = Yes.
Spells = Yes.
Classes = Yes.
Dailies = A few.

EONS Island -

EXP Gains = Low.
Currency Gains = Low.
Challenge Level = Difficult.
AOE Weapons = No.
Loot Bags = No.
Devilgate = No.
Spells = 1 (bandage self).
Classes = Modified to Island Rank System.
Dailies = Pretty much everything.
